Business Automation
I figure out what's costing you time and money, then I build something to fix it.
You've probably been thinking about this already
There's a lot of noise about AI and automation right now. You've seen it on LinkedIn, you've heard competitors mention it, and you've probably got that nagging feeling that you should be doing something but aren't sure what. Most businesses are in the same boat.
It's not all AI
Automation doesn't have to be complicated. A lot of the time it's really practical stuff. Taking a process that's slow or manual and building a system that handles it properly. AI is one tool in the box, and it's a powerful one, but it's not always the right answer. Sometimes a well-built spreadsheet or a simple web app does the job better.
The real question is: where's the time going?
You probably already know things aren't as efficient as they could be. Someone's spending half a day every week pulling together a report. Your quoting process involves three different spreadsheets. Your team might feel there's room for improvement, but they haven't got the time or the know-how to work out where to start.
The holiday test
Here's a good one: is there someone in your business who can never go on holiday? Or two people who can't be off at the same time because they're the only ones who know how to do a certain thing? If a process only works because it lives in one person's head, that's exactly the kind of thing that should be in a system instead.
That's where I come in
I start by talking to the people who actually do the work, poking around the processes, and finding all the places where time and money are being wasted. Most of the time, the person doing the job knows exactly what could be better. They just haven't had anyone to tell.
What automation actually looks like
When I say "automation," I don't mean robots or anything sci-fi. I mean practical stuff like:
Reports that build themselves
That thing where someone spends every Friday afternoon copying numbers between spreadsheets? A computer can do that in about three seconds.
Processes that don't need chasing
Automatic follow-up emails, notifications when something needs attention, reminders that don't rely on someone's memory.
Systems that talk to each other
Getting your website, invoicing, CRM, and ads all pulling data into one place instead of living in separate silos.
Data entry that nobody has to do
If someone on your team is typing the same information into two different systems, I can fix that.
Dashboards that show you what matters
Instead of digging through spreadsheets to find out how the business is doing, you get a screen that just tells you.
Custom software when nothing off-the-shelf fits
Sometimes your business just works differently to everyone else's, and I can build something that fits how you actually operate.
A quick honest bit
I'm not going to automate something that doesn't need automating. Sometimes the answer is "actually, what you've got is fine" or "you just need a better spreadsheet." If that's the case, I'll tell you. I'd rather you spent your money where it makes a real difference.
The goal isn't to automate everything. It's to free up your team's time for the stuff that actually needs a human brain. Selling, creating, problem solving, looking after customers. The boring repetitive stuff? Let a computer do it.
Got a process that's driving you mad?
Tell me about it. Even if you're not sure it can be automated, it's worth a conversation.
