Dave Coleman

Business automation, AI, and web development. Based in Staffordshire.

I've been building things with computers for a long time. I ran a web, software, and IT support company called Offsight for about 10 years. The IT support side got me a foot in the door with business owners. I'd be in their offices fixing their computers and end up chatting about what else they needed. That led to building them websites and software. It's where I learned how businesses actually work on the inside, not just what they look like from the outside.

Since then I've built and exited another company, and I'm currently CTO of an AI-driven software company that was a finalist for AI Innovation of the Year 2025. That company, Insights, actually came directly from my time running an IT support company. I understood the challenges IT technicians face because I'd lived them.

These days I also work directly with business owners who need tech that actually helps them. Not the kind of tech that sits in the corner gathering dust because nobody knows how to use it. The kind that genuinely makes things better.

How I work

I'm one person, not an agency. That means when you work with me, you're talking to the person who actually builds the thing. There's no project manager in the middle translating your words into a brief that a developer you've never met will try to interpret. It's just me, listening to what you need and then building it, making sure the workflow is so smooth and intuitive, it's like an extra pair of hands for your staff.

That might sound like it wouldn't scale, but it works surprisingly well because I use modern AI tools as part of my workflow. Not in a gimmicky "everything is AI now" way, but in a practical, "this lets me do the work of a small team" way. I can move quickly without cutting corners.

One thing people sometimes ask is what happens if they need someone else to work on it in the future. Everything I build is well commented, well documented, and uses popular programming frameworks and industry standards. If someone else ever needed to pick it up, they could. You're never locked in to me.

I'm honest about what I can and can't do. If something's outside my wheelhouse, I'll say so. If I think you don't actually need what you're asking for, I'll say that too. I'd rather you spent your money where it makes a real difference.

What I'm like to work with

I'm pretty relaxed. I don't do hard sells or pressure. I explain things in plain English because life's too short for jargon. If something goes wrong, I'll tell you straight away and fix it, not hide behind a ticket system.

My favourite projects are the ones where someone says "I don't suppose there's a way to..." and I get to say "actually, yeah, there is." I genuinely enjoy untangling messy processes and building things that make people's working lives a bit easier.

I'm always happy to connect on LinkedIn.
